I think this is my first review of Irish restaurant (?). Wait staff are so nice and very helpful on giving advice and checking on us. The food is awesome, the fish is best I ever have for this kind of fried fish. Very nice place to meet with friends and family inside and outside environment are just very welcoming.

Where do I start, I love everything about this place. The food is so filling and delicious, it's food for the soul. Their French onion soup is my favorite soup on earth. The entree's feel homemade and warm you up after a snow day in Tahoe. Then the finale comes when a s'mores bread pudding is sat at your table in all its bubbling glory. The staff feel like old friends and the decor is true to the Scottish theme with kilts on the walls. MacDuffs is a MUST TRY! :)

It couldn't have been a better evening to have dinner here. The shepherd pie was one of the best I have ever had! The staff was great, they went above to help correct a small mistake. I can't wait to come back if I am ever in Tahoe again!!

The overall dinning experience was amazing! I had the steepers pie, my wife had the beef stew and both meals were spot on! Best hidden secret in South Lake Tahoe!

We sat at the bar and ordered a round of cocktails. Both were good and we appreciated the violent shaking the bartender gave our drinks. They produced ducks on the pond. We also ordered chicken wings with all of the sauces that were offered. We really enjoyed the buffalo sauce. It had a nice heat that was just right for us. In the past we have ordered the chicken nuggets but they are overly breaded for our liking. We wish the nuggets could come out Iike the wings so we don't have the mess of eating the wings.

MacDuffs is a must stop every time I visit Tahoe. The service is incredible and everything on the menu is delicious. Especially the Cottage Pie. Nice and friendly environment and big portions! 5 stars!

We ordered the Kid's Mac N cheese, the truffle Mac, the Sheppard's Pie, and the Fish N Chips. Everything tasted incredible! The menu is reasonably priced. We were actually pleasantly surprised the kid's Mac N Cheese came with a healthy portion of scrumptious fries! The place was packed. Definitely a nice environment. The servers all work together and check on you regularly. You can even keep the drink cups as souvenirs! We originally stopped into the American River Cafe or some such inside Harrah's, but there was only one other party in the entire restaurant. The food was also a bit on the pricey side and nothing really jumped out at us as delectable. We're glad we didn't stay to eat and found this place instead!

This place is such a treat, y'all. Everything about it. Okay - the atmosphere and decor are genuine and charming. Upstairs looks and feels like every pub in Midsummer Murders, though I know that's English, sorry. The servers and runner are great and have sweet personalities. The menu is good sized but not intimidating; there are some really cool features like Truffle Mac&Cheese that you can customize with pizza toppings. Brilliant. I was a little under the weather so I ordered a hot whisky cider; it was absolutely perfect in temp and ratios. We also had a lovely Guinness. The star of the meal: Cottage Pie! Omg. Hearty, flavorful, great size for sharing. A unique, home run of a dish. We also had the Pablano corn soup, which we liked very much, and a wedge salad, which was fine. The bread pudding was tight and stodgy and the ice cream tasted like freezer, but the sauce was so delicious I felt like drinking it, so it made everything taste just fine. First time I've ever left bread pudding in the bowl; usually I can make myself finish but not this one. Regardless, we will definitely be back for the excellent meal and lovely experience that is MacDuffs. PS - they have great merch

Date: Sunday, October 29th, 2023 Meal: Lunch Takeout Party of: 2 Time Ordered: around 2pm Time Ready: about 30 mins later *New England Clam Chowder ($11) *Wedge Salad: Iceberg lettuce wedge, peppered bacon, blue cheese on side, tomatoes, no candied walnuts ($17) *Jose's Reuben: Corned beef, swiss and homemade sauerkraut served on house-baked rye ($21) *Draft Beer: Tremor Lager ($9) The hubby and I were up in Tahoe. Decided to try MacDuff's since I've never been here. And who doesn't like pub food?! We walked in, looked at the menu, and placed our order. Since it was going to take a while, I decided to sip on a beer while waiting. I actually like lighter, easier to drink beers, so this was perfect. The hubby got the reuben with fries. Looked like a solid reuben and he seemed to enjoy it. I got the salad and soup. The salad was fresh and crunchy. The soup nice and creamy. We told the server we like spicy food, so she gave us some side of ghost pepper hot sauce. Beware as this is actually really spicy. I loved it! (I would like to think I have a high tolerance for spice. Lol!) It went well with the ketchup and fries. Awesome place for pub fare. And such great service. Even for takeaway!

After carefully sourcing a spot for lunch after a day of touring Lake Tahoe, we landed on MacDuff's in South Lake Tahoe thanks to Yelp and its handy reviews! MacDuff's received one of the best reviews for lunch in Lake Tahoe. Upon entry, I was taken aback by the cute little cottagelike pub adorning Scottish decor, notably the kilts in frames and lighting fixtures. For starters I ordered the French Onion Soup and thought it was delicious, I found all the elements went together for the savory warmth that comes with the broth, cheese, and bread. I also ordered the beer-battered onion rings with special sauce, these were great. The batter had herbs, which gave it such a savory kick with the perfect amount of crunch and meaty onion. For lunch, I had a salad and I don't recall which one. My cousin got the pear salad, and we kept saying it tasted like apple pie. It was definitely on the sweet side, turns out they marinate their pears in red wine along with some other things. Good customer service, definitely a local favorite, you could feel the vibe. Hearty portions!
